It's official, we'll be at "Asphalt Wars" this Saturday

Just got the official word from Rush Willys owner Spike Sterling that we will attend this weekend's "Asphalt Wars" at Thompson Raceway Park in Thompson Ohio. The forecast looks perfect and this event looks like it should be an absolute blast. We'll compete in the "8 Fastest Door Cars" Class, the featured event of the day. Blowers vs. Nitrous with no rules! It is a quarter mile event, but we have no choice but to go for it. Bear in mind, I have yet to make even a full eighth mile run in the Rush Willys, but it's getting late and it's time to rock. We've done enough testing that we feel the bugs are worked out to the point that we can go make some laps. One way cool feature of this event is that there is also a Quick 8 for altereds, dragsters, and funny cars! It was all I could do to quench the temptation to bring the Orange Charger along, too. Maybe next time. We need to focus on getting the Willys up to speed.
