BOBBY MARTIN KEYNOTE SPEAKER AT SKILLSUSA OHIO LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE

Bobby Martin, recognized nationwide as a leading proponent of vocational
education, will take to the podium on Thursday, November 12, 2009 as a
special guest of SkillsUSA Ohio. Martin drives Frank and Dan Parker's
Parkertech/Lane Automotive Charger, a 250 mph, 3500 horsepower Top Alcohol
Funny Car. The event is the annual SkillsUSA 2009 High School Fall
Leadership Conference at the Ohio Expo Center's Lausche Auditorium.
SkillsUSA Ohio Director Mike Cowles saying, "We are really excited to have
Bobby joining us for the Fall Conference. We will have close to 1000
students present."
Martin, who recently won NHRA Drag Racing's oldest and most prestigious
event, the 2009 U.S. Nationals at Indianapolis, will fit right in with the
Conference theme of "Champions at Work - Creating Opportunities." The
veteran racer plans to elaborate on that theme with examples from his racing
experience.. Bobby will actually address two groups - a meeting of the Ohio
T&I Supervisors Group, made up of school administrators, and later the
Leadership Conference. "Our State Vice President, Jordan Hammond will be
introducing Bobby to the audience," said Cowles. "She is a senior in
Automotive Technology at Buckeye Hills Career Center."
The Ohio Army National Guard will be on hand to honor veterans prior to the
Opening Session. The Conference also features breakout sessions on various
business and leadership topics, a SkillsUSA regional election, and a State
House tour and Legislative visits. The High School Fall Leadership
Conference is the premier professional development opportunity for High
School SkillsUSA students and Advisors. This event is open to all students,
advisors and administrators enrolled in High School Career-Technical
programs affiliated with SkillsUSA.

representatives; working together to ensure America has a skilled work
force. It helps each student to excel. SkillsUSA is a national organization
serving teachers and high school and college students who are preparing for
careers in technical, skilled and service occupations, including health
