CAP CHARGER to be FEATURED AT 2009 HAMPTON ROADS INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOW

Bobby Martin's CAP CHARGER Top Alcohol Funny Car will be a featured attraction at the 2009 Hampton Roads International Auto Show at the Virginia Beach Convention Center January 9-11. The 3000 horsepower Dodge competes at NHRA events and can cover the standing start quarter mile in less than 5.7 seconds at speeds of more than 256 miles per hour. Bobby has toured the country since 1996 to motivate students to "go for it" in their automotive careers and in life. 2008 was a great year on the track for Bobby as well. With Martin piloting Frank and Dan Parker's Parkertech/Lane Automotive/CAP Charger, the team won the NHRA Division 3 Championship and finished #8 in the entire nation. The new team also earned the championship crown at the NHRA Nationals in Norwalk Ohio. Bobby will make two presentations to area high school students during the Auto Show weekend - one on Friday morning and one on Saturday. Starting time both days will be 9am. The driver will also be present on the show floor to meet showgoers, sign autographs, answer questions, and just to enjoy the show. "I'm a car guy, so I love seeing all the new cars at the show every year," says Martin. "And I love talking cars with everybody at the show, too." The CAP CHARGER and Bobby Martin's appearance are presented by Tidewater Community College and the HRADA.

It'll be a wild weekend. In typical fashion, there will be two events going on that weekend. The second is the Division 3 Awards Banquet in Indianapolis. I simply could not miss that. So I'll be flying to Indy for the banquet from Virginia Beach, then back to Virginia to finish up the Hampton Roads Auto Show. This will be a special night. You'll see Frank and Dan Parker, Mike Meeks, Larry Radke, Kyle Pelfrey, and Kevin Wilhelms wearing ties. Unbelievable. Lori, Jennifer, Rachel, Cindy, Lindsey, Crista, and Christina in their dresses will be nice too. After that have a very Merry Christmas filled with every blessing. See you soon.
