APRIL MIDWEST TOUR WITH A TWIST UNDERWAY
Mar 31, 2008
Author: Bobby Martin
This week I'm excited to once again visit my Oklahoma friends at OSU
Okmulgee. The Technology Showcase, one of the most exciting and
comprehensive school open house events in the country, has been moved to
spring to accommodate high school sophomores and juniors. It happens
Thursday, April 3. But on Wednesday, there will be a new twist to my visit.
I have the honor of taking the CAP CHARGER to Claremore Assembly of God
church in Claremore OK to speak to the youth there. My experiences with
youth in that part of the country have always been super, so I'm really
looking forward to meeting the gang at Claremore.
The following week Frank & Dan Parker and I continue our racing campaign
with the Division 3 opener at Indy. Everybody involved is pretty excited
about this race. There's that feeling of pressure though, knowing you
should do well, so you have to go out there and make something happen. We
had that feeling even at Gainesville, our first race together. We'd like to
improve on our showing at the Gators, and get our Divisional campaign off to
a strong start.
I do owe you a report on Gainesville. We all felt pretty good about our
debut together and learned a lot. I'll have more when I return from OK.
(I'm leaving in a few minutes.) Racing with Parkers is one of the best
opportunities I've had in my career. Lots of cool stuff going on.
At Indy, you will see both cars, as I plan to bring the CAP CHARGER to the
race and continue on to Dunwoody College in Minnesota where I'll appear for
their two-day open house event. That's April 16th and 17th. I'll be there
with the CAP CHARGER both days. It's my first visit to Dunwoody.
Remember April 1st is April Fool's Day. Set your clock back 6 hours and
stay in bed, just to be safe. |
